Demonstration Overdose Prevention Site (OPS)
Join us on 26th June for a powerful demonstration in support of harm reduction. This event, hosted at Allen Gardens (near Brick Lane, in Tower Hamlets), will bring together people committed to building safer, healthier responses to the growing crisis of synthetic opioids in the street supply.
As we face a rising tide of synthetic opioids like nitazenes, we need to act now. This event is a direct challenge to the failures of the British state to address a preventable crisis. We know that well-resourced harm reduction responses (housing, overdose prevention sites, safe supply initiatives, etc.) in a context of decriminalisation can avert further loss.
This demonstration is a radical act of care. About showing what’s possible when we come together as a community to support each other and demand the change we need.
Besides a model for spaces where people can use drugs in a supportive, safer and more dignified environment, the gazebo and stall will be a site of connections and learning — including rolling opportunities for naloxone training.
